Recently, JYJ’s Kim Junsu and BIGBANG’s T.O.P were spotted at Nonsan Army Bootcamp’s opening ceremony. The 2 idols, who enlisted in the army on 9th February, took a group shot alongside other military men and the photo was posted on the bootcamp’s official website.
According to Koreaboo, photos like this are published online “for friends and family on the outside to see how their loved ones are doing in the army”.
30-year-old Junsu and 29-year-old T.O.P (real name Choi Seung Hyun) have both been assigned to the 25th Regiment. While the former was assigned to the 2nd Company, the latter was assigned to the 1st Company. The 25th Regiment will start training exercises for rifle shooting, gas chamber training, and combat training next week, announced Colonel Hwanf San Duk.
Koreaboo also added that the bootcamp lasts for 4 weeks. After that, the men will be assigned to the National Police Agency to carry out their 2-year mandatory service.
Just in case you didn’t know, fit and able men in South Korea are required to enlist in the military once they hit 18 years of age. However, the maximum age of conscription is 30 years old, and those who do not serve by then will face legal action.
Hwaiting, oppas! We’ll be waiting for you 🙂
