While Christian Grey loves S&M (Sadism and Masochism), Jamie Dornan, the actor who plays the character in the “Fifty Shades” movie adaptions, does not.
In a recent interview with GQ Australia, the actor revealed his thoughts about his character’s sexual lifestyle, saying that he had “had no interest in that world” and that S&M “doesn’t float his boat”.
“I’ve always been open-minded and liberal—I’d never judge anyone’s sexual preference. Whatever gets people off is entirely up to them and there’s a million different ways to please yourself, sexually,” said the 34-year-old actor.
Dornan also added that he’s not too fond of his onscreen alter ego and doesn’t think that he’d be friends with him in real life.
He continued, “He’s not the sort of bloke I’d get along with. All my mates are easy going and quick to laugh – I wouldn’t imagine myself sat in a pub with him. I don’t think he would be my type, when it comes to choosing mates.”
Dornan stars in “Fifty Shades Darker” alongside Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele, Kim Basinger as Elena Lincoln aka Mrs. Robinson, and Luke Grime as Elliot Grey. Based on E.L. James’ best-selling erotic adult fiction of the same name, the upcoming sequel is directed by James Foley and penned by the author’s husband, Niall Leonard.
“Fifty Shades Darker” is slated for release on 10th February 2017 while “Fifty Shades Freed” will hit theatres on 9th February 2018.
