Good news, SONEs! Girls’ Generation (소녀시대) member Seohyun (서현) will be debuting as a solo singer soon!
Though details of her solo activities are scarce at the moment, an insider revealed that her album is set to drop in January. The singer’s label, SM Entertainment, said, “Seohyun is currently preparing a solo album. We’ll make an announcement once the schedule is confirmed.”
25-year-old Seohyun (real name Seo Ju Hyun, 서주현) made her debut through Girls’ Generation in August 2007 and the group became one of the most popular female idol groups in the K-Pop industry. Known for her astonishing vocal skills, she is the maknae (youngest member) of the group. She is also in a sub-unit called TaeTiSeo (TTS) alongside fellow members Taeyeon (김태연) and Tiffany (티파니).
Besides her singing career, Seohyun has been pretty active in acting recently. Not only did she appear in “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo” (달의 연인 – 보보경심 려) as Princess Woo Hee, but she will also be playing the female lead in “Ruby Ruby Love”, OnStyle’s upcoming fantasy-romance web drama, alongside model-turned-actor Lee Cheol Woo. The 5-episode web drama is slated for release on 18th January.
What kind of music do you think Seohyun will sing? Will be it a catchy dance track like Tiffany’s “I Just Wanna Dance” or a mellow ballad like Taeyeon’s “11:11”? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
