Worried about not having any water during Christmas? Fret not, because SYABAS (Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor) has confirmed that water supply in the Klang Valley will be fully restored before 24th December (Saturday).
In a statement that was released on Sunday (18th December), the water supply company addressed the issue and dismissed false information that has been circulating on social media since the water disruption announcement on Thursday (15th December).
“With reference to the water interruption on Dec 19 due to the Tenaga Nasional Berhad’s (TNB) maintenance works at the Bukit Badong substation, many unofficial Water Supply Schedules and infographics regarding the matter are currently circulating on social media,” they said, adding that the Water Supply Schedule was planned from 19th -24th December issue and is categorised into 2 zones.
According to the NST, the reason behind the introduction of the scheduled recovery was to help the company manage the deployment of water tankers effectively according to the designated zones.
They continued, “For Zone 1 areas, water will be supplied beginning from 4pm on 20th December and disconnected from 9am on 21st and 22nd December. Water supply will resume beginning from 4pm on Dec 23 and 24. For Zone 2 areas, water will be supplied beginning from 4pm on 21st and 22nd December and disconnected starting from 9am on 23rd and 24th December.”
