The National Water Services Commission (SPAN) has announced that the Klang Valley will be facing water disruptions on 19th December (Monday). This is caused by a 16-hour maintenance works carried out by Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) to install a protective arc system at the main entrance of the Bukit Badong substation in Hulu Selangor.
It was reported that the disruption will affect over 3.8 million residents in 814 areas, including Petaling district, Klang, Shah Alam, Gombak, Kuala Langat, Hulu Selangor, Kuala Selangor, and Kuala Lumpur.
In a statement, SPAN chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Ridhuan Ismail said, “The disruption is expected to last for 16 hours, between 8am and midnight. It will affect operations at water treatment facilities that supply water to 60 percent of users in the Klang Valley.”
He also added that water supply is expected to be restored in stages after the system maintenance work on the electricity supply has been completed.
