One of the major reasons why “Beauty and the Beast” remains so beloved amongst fans is because of the colourful supporting characters. Before the castle staff were household things, they were human beings.
Sadly, they had the misfortune of working for a rich brat who was a jerk to everyone. As a result, a magical spell was cast and the master of the castle was transformed into a beast while the castle servants were turned into common household objects. Have you been curious to know how they’d look like in human form?
Fan site “Beauty and the Beast Movie News” recently tweeted a photo of an elaborate theatre stand-up display featuring a close look at the film’s entire ensemble of characters. On the left, we’ve got the main characters who are human and remain human throughout the movie: Belle (Emma Watson), Maurice (Kevin Kline), Gaston (Luke Evans), and Lefou (Josh Gad).
On the right side, we have the supporting characters who were screwed over by that enchantment but are now in their normal French forms. Below Beast (Dan Stevens), you can spot Mrs. Potts (Emma Thompson), Lumiere (an almost unrecognizable Ewan McGregor), Cogsworth (Ian McKellen), Cadenza (Stanley Tucci), Garderobe (Audra McDonald), and the feather duster Plumette (Gugu Mbatha-Raw).
Notice right in the middle, the key household staff characters can be seen in their non-human form. There’s no news yet on how much screen time we’ll get to see these interesting characters in their human form, but it’ll likely be at the end when the curse has been lifted!
“Beauty and the Beast” will hit cinemas on 17th March 2017.
