Here we go again, guys.
The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that another “How I Met Your Mother” spin-off is in development at 20th TV, with “This Is Us” writers Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger attached to write the script. It was also reported that original series creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas would executive produce the project.
Roughly 3 years ago, CBS surprisingly decided not to pick up the pilot of “How I Met Your Dad”, which starred Nicholas D’Agosto, Jake Ferree, and Greta Gerwig and is written by Bays and Thomas. The pilot follows Sally, a New Yorker who is getting divorced from her first husband.
Like the first spin-off, “How I Met Your Father” also aims to tell the story from a female point of view. It is said that the developing series is described as “a brand new take on the premise with new characters and new writers”.
So far, the upcoming spin-off sounds promising, provided that they don’t kill off the main spouse and have the lead date his best friend, if you know what we mean.
