BEAST is back. Well, not now, but soon.
When it was reported that the idol group wouldn’t be renewing their contract with Cube Entertainment and will be setting up their own independent label, b2uties were extremely supportive of the decision. However, several setbacks have caused a delay in their plans. Lucky for the BEAST and their fans, the saga is coming to an end, as the group has reportedly set up a brand new agency named “Good Luck”.
The label is said to be a collaboration between BEAST and Mr Kim, who has connections with Hong Kong Entertainment and who also previously worked with JYP Pictures. Famed Hong Kong actor Louis Koo also reportedly has a hand in the new label. According to reports by Korean media, the actor agreed to become a major benefactor as he has taken an interest in the group.
As such, Jasco Entertainment, which merged with Louis Koo’s entertainment company back in July 2016, will support BEAST’s move in forming a new company.
Amidst all these reports, Cube Entertainment has stood their ground, and revealed that they haven’t heard anything conclusive about this. They remain adamant that the company and idol group are still in discussions regarding the contract.
A report by media outlet DongA also seems to suggest that the members have been trying to set up the company for a whole month, and are focused on promoting independently in the future. An official contract is also set to be completed soon, and the members will personally inform fans once everything has been finalised.
Shinsadong Tiger, a famed producer in the music industry who has frequently worked with BEAST, also reassured fans that the group will be able to perform their older tracks under certain conditions. However, it is still unsure if they’ll be able to keep their name if they decide to proceed with their own label.
