George Miller’s “Mad Max: Fury Road” (2015) is undeniably one of the best action films ever made. The Oscar-winning film features a post-apocalyptic set that follows Max Rockatansky (played by Tom Hardy) and Imperator Furiosa (played by Charlize Theron) as they attempt to overturn Immortan Joe (played by Hugh Keays-Byrne).
If you enjoyed watching that movie, then maybe you should (or shouldn’t) check China’s version, titled “Mad Shelia” (疯狂希莉娅). From its poster to its trailer, it’s safe to say that “Mad Shelia” is a “Mad Max” imitation.
In the trailer, titled “Chinese Mad Max rip-off trailer”, released by Hong Kong Cinema, the new Chinese film looks like a cheap cosplay production. The name of the titular character, Shelia, is actually a misspelled version of an Australian slang “sheila”, which means “women”.
The video clip bears several striking resemblance to latest “Mad Max” film: desert wastelands, biker gangs, and super tanks. International Business Times also pointed out that the action movie was never released in mainland China.
But don’t take our word for it, watch the trailer below:

“Max Shelia” is slated for an online release today (Friday, 25th November) via Tencent Video streaming service, which is only usable for residents living in mainland China.
