Jiyoon (전지윤) has been really busy preparing her solo debut since the disbandment of 4Minute back in June.
In a recent interview, not only did the rapper reveal the names of her comeback tracks, but she also talked about how she felt when her former idol group separated.
“I discussed it with the members for a long time, and we were worried about our own paths. Even till the end we weren’t thinking about disbanding, but as we respected each other’s opinions, we became the way we are now. I felt so sorry to all the fans who were taken aback. The members’ hearts were also in pain,” said the singer.
Jiyoon wrote and produced 2 tracks – “I Do It” (working title) and “Magnet” (working title) – for her comeback, adding that being a part of 4Minute helped shape her music experience.
She explained, “The reason why I can stand on my own right now is because of 4Minute. 4Minute is the skeleton of my experience, and now I have to be the one to stick the meat on the bones”.
25-year-old Jeon Jiyoon debuted with 4Minute in 2009 with their first single, “Hot Issue”, and the group quickly became one of the most popular female idol groups in K-Pop. She left the group in June 2016 to pursue a solo career.
Jiyoon’s first single album, “Day & Night”, is slated for release on 2nd November.
