Many tolls in the Klang Valley have already gone cashless, and the toll plazas on the Damansara-Puchong Highway (LDP) are amongst the last to still use the cash system.
But this is all about the change, as the stretch of highway will be switching to the full electronic toll collection (ETC) starting 9th November at noon. Johor’s Senai-Desaru Highway (SDE) will also go electronic at the same time.
The date is more than 2 weeks away, so those who still pay by cash should have ample time to buy themselves a Touch N’ Go card or Smart Tag.
The toll plazas on the LDP that are affected are as follows:
- Penchala
- Petaling Jaya
- Puchong Barat
- Puchong Selatan
Those affected on the SDE are:
- Senai
- Ulu Tiram
- Cahaya Baru
- Penawar
To ensure that there are less hiccups and to prepare for motorists who are caught unaware, a few 24-hour “Lorong Tambah Nilai (Reload Lane)” will be provided at the toll plazas. Motorists will be able to buy new Touch N’ Go cards or reload their current ones there.
For more info, the public can contact the Communications Department of Lingkaran Trans Kota Sdn Bhd (Litrak). For enquiries about the LDP concessionaire, the number provided is 03-74947012 while the number for SDE is 07-8612222.
