Everybody’s favourite secret agent, MacGyver, is back in a reimagining of the classic series!

Paying homage to the original series, the all-new “MacGyver” will be a fresh take with more explosive stunts, edgier characters and plenty of DIY action that fans have come to love.

MacGyver

Executive produced by Malaysian-born James Wan (of “The Conjuring 2” fame), “MacGyver” stars Lucas Till (of “X-Men: Apocalypse” fame) as 20-something Angus “Mac” MacGyver who creates a clandestine organisation within the US government where he uses his extraordinary talent for unconventional problem solving and vast scientific knowledge to save lives.

MacGyver is joined by former CIA agent Jack Dalton and Patricia Thorton, an ex-field agent turned director of operations and Riley Davis, an unpredictable computer hacker with a chip on her shoulder. At home, MacGyver is entertained by his ambitious roommate, Wilt Bozer.

Under the aegis of the Department of External Services, MacGyver takes on the responsibility of saving the world, armed to the teeth with resourcefulness and little more than bubble gum and a paper clip.

The series is expected to chronicle how MacGyver acquired some of his famous skill sets.

In speaking about his decision to take up the titular role, Lucas Till said, “I remember reading his (Peter Lenkov’s) pilot script and it was just so exciting that I started hopping around my room. My buddy, who was over, was, like, ‘Dude, what is going on?’ I had to reenact, out loud, the last two pages I had just read, because I was so excited. It took me forever to get through it, because I would keep throwing the script down, going, ‘Aw, we get to go where? We get to do what?'”

“MacGyver” also stars George Eads (of “CSI” fame), Peter Lenkov (“Hawaii Five-0” and “CSI: NY”), Golden Globe Award winner Henry Winkler (of “Happy Days” fame) and executive produced by the creator of the original series Lee Zlotoff and James Wan.

So mark your calendar! “MacGyver” premieres same week as the US on 24th September 2016, every Saturday at 9:05pm, first and exclusively on AXN (Astro Ch701) and AXN HD (Astro B.yond Ch721).
