Can you hear Red Velvet (레드벨벳)’s heart-b-b-b-beat?
The girls of SM Entertainment’s Red Velvet are back with their 3rd mini-album, “Russian Roulette” (러시안 룰렛), and as promised, the music video for the title track of the same name was released on Wednesday (7th September).
Prior to the album’s release, SM teased fans with a series of colourful individual teaser images of members Wendy, Joy, Irene, Yeri, and Seulgi.
Each member has a different colour theme in their photos. For instance, Wendy’s background is bright blue while Irene’s pastel pink.
Check out their bold promo photos in the gallery below:
“Russian Roulette” is a synthpop (also known as electropop) song that fuses a retro 8-bit sound, giving it an arcade vibe. The track is said to be about a girl trying to win a boy’s heart, describing the situation as a Russian Roulette game.
Staying true to Red Velvet’s quirky concept, the music video is filled with bold colours and fun settings. The clip shows the girls trying to sabotage each other using various methods taken from “Itchy and Scratchy”. The “tennis court” concept also reminded us of Apink’s “Mr. Chu”.

“Russian Roulette” consists of 7 tracks including “Lucky Girl”, “Bad Dracula”, “Sunny Afternoon”, “Fool”, “Some Love”, and “My Dear”.
