It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s Tyler Hoechlin donning his new Superman costume!
The “Teen Wolf” star was officially announced last month that he was to be Clark Kent aka Superman. Now, The CW has released a new poster for “Supergirl” season 2, giving us our very first glimpse at Hoechlin fully suited-up as the Man of Steel.

There’s no denying that Supergirl and her more famous cousin, Superman, make a pretty super pair. Designed by costume guru Kiersten Ronning, the red-and-yellow “S” logo and the red belt around Hoechlin’s waist do bear a resemblance to the New 52 version of Superman’s costume.
During the 1st season of “Supergirl”, Superman was occasionally shown as a child, from a distance or greatly obscured. Russ Burlingame suggests that Clark’s visit to National City is essentially to help Kara with the crash-landing of a Kryptonian escape pod.
DC Comics previously revealed that Hoechlin will be making his appearance as the iconic superhero in the first 2 episodes of “Supergirl” season 2. No word yet if the 28-year-old actor has signed on for more episodes beyond that arc but there has been of a crossover with other shows, namely “Arrow”, “The Flash”, and “Legends of Tomorrow”.

Superman’s arrival on “Supergirl” will certainly mark a major moment for the sophomore series. “It’s definitely incredibly surreal. I know the character represents so much to so many people. This is not a generational thing. This is something literally spread across so much time,” said Hoechlin during his appearance at the San Diego Comic-Con.
At the time, Hoechlin hadn’t tried the classic tights and cape on yet, though he did expressed concern for the first fitting. “I believe there will be a suit involved in this one, it would be weird if it wasn’t. But I haven’t tried it on yet. Hopefully when we get to Vancouver we’ll give it a shot,” he told E! News.

Now that you’v seen Hoechlin in the Superman suit, what are your thoughts? Does he scream Man of Steel to you?
“Supergirl” season 2 will premiere on The CW 10th October 2016.
