We’ve had to wait for years, but it was all worth it because YG’s New Girl Group – BLACKPINK – is finally debuting!
After teasing fans with photos of the members, YG Entertainment has finally released a teaser photo for BLACKPINK’s upcoming album. The photo reveals the concept and release date of their impending debut.
With only the sentence “BLACKPINK IN YOUR AREA”, the photo reveals a date – 8th August, 8PM. While YG Entertainment never explicitly stated that they will be debuting the girl group on the poster, they did add hashtag “#debut” to their Facebook post.
4 pairs of hands can be seen in the photo, with roses on the sides. The teaser is also splashed with black and pink colour gradients, in line with the group’s name.
BLACKPINK will reportedly release 8 tracks for their debut album, and each song will be accompanied by a music video, ala BIGBANG MADE-style.
The group is YG’s first girl group since 2NE1’s debut back in 2009 and they are made up of 4 members – Park Chae Young (박채영) aka ROSÉ, Jennie Kim (김제니), Lalisa Manoban aka Lisa, and Kim Jisoo (김지수).

It’s confirmed! BLACKPINK is indeed making their debut!
A simplistic teaser photo of Rosé was uploaded less than an hour ago, and it featured the member looking stunningly into the camera while sporting a denim jacket, white shirt, and white knee high socks.
A pink rectangle box also highlighted the features of Rosé, and the words “D-5” could be seen at the top right of the teaser.

Woah, YG Entertainment is on a roll!
2 more teaser photos have been released, this time presenting all 4 members of BLACKPINK. It showed them sporting wavy hair in what looks like a toy shop. Not only were they dressed in colourful attire in both photos, they were also shown holding a pink gun each.

The latest countdown teaser photo for the next member has been released!
It’s none other than Jennie Kim, the leader and rapper of BLACKPINK. She can be seen dressed in a simple black and white t-shirt along with black shorts. Same as Rosé’s teaser, a rectangle box adorned the photo, along with their debut details.
UPDATE (5th August, 10:15am):
The teasers never stop coming.
Several new teasers released by YG Entertainment gives us more glimpses of the new girl group. A solo teaser of Lisa was also unveiled this morning, and it is a little different from the 2 individual teaser that were shared earlier. While Rosé and Jennie’s teasers were half body shots, Lisa’s teaser was a medium close up shot. She could be seen sporting blonde hair, while dressed in a t-shirt.
An insider has also revealed that BLACKPINK will be releasing 2 music videos on 8th August. Although 3 music videos have reportedly been filmed, the insider said, “It was expected that they release 2 tracks as the members have been trainees for 6 years, and their album took 2 years to complete. That’s why they’re filming music videos for all their songs, which will release at different times.”
Well, that could mean that we will be seeing the members ’til the end of the year, and that’s a good thing 😉

You guys, YG Entertainment has revealed the title of BLACKPINK’s debut track and it’s “BOOMBAYAH”!
The girls’ upcoming song is produced by Teddy while the lyrics were written by Teddy and Bekuh Boom. Shot in black-and-white, the new teaser photo features a collage of the 4 members and the single’s title written in pink.
We don’t know about you, but we’re super hyped for their debut! We just can’t wait to see what sort of unique concept they would be offering us 😉
