“I’m like a bad penny, I always turn up.”
That’s right adventure lovers, Walt Disney Studios announced last week that Harrison Ford and director Steven Spielberg will be “turning up” for the 5th instalment of the “Indiana Jones” movie franchise!
Although it’s been 28 years since the release of the first film, the influence it has on many film junkies has been rooted deeply.
“Indiana Jones is one of the greatest heroes in cinematic history, and we can’t wait to bring him back to the screen in 2019. We couldn’t be more excited to embark on this adventure with Harrison and Steven.” said Walt Disney Studios chairman, Alan Horn in a statement.
Harrison reprised his role as Han Solo last December in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and showed the world that he could recharge a mega-movie franchise, and he doesn’t need a younger and hotter actor to replace him (ahem, ahem Chris Pratt).
But Walt Disney Studios did reveal that a young sidekick will be needed as Harrison will be 77 years old in 2019. But not to worry, David Koepp, who is a longtime partner of Steven Spielberg, will be the screen writer for the film!
The studio also mentioned that this is crucial after many Twitter users started circulating fake titles (mostly referencing Harrison’s age), #FakeIndy5Titles, after the casting announcement.
Another #IndianaJones? Send us your ideas for what this will be titled. We say: Indiana Jones and the Shrine of Retirement. #FakeIndy5Titles

“Indiana Jones” is an adventure movie franchise about an archaeologist and explorer, which now ranks #60 on the American Film Institutes’ “100 Greatest American Films Of All Times” list. After Harrison Ford hinted that Han Solo may still be alive, we feel double the excitement to see him on the big screen as both Han Solo and Indiana Jones 🙂
The 5th “Indiana Jones” movie is set to release on 19th July 2019.
