Wonder Woman will certainly help revolutionise the way women are being presented in comics because the great Amazonian princess will be having her own solo movie that is slated for release next year.
Gal Gadot is starring in it as the title role and she will make her debut appearance in Zack Snyder‘s much-anticipated “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice“.
Though details regarding her involvement in the Snyder-directed film are still being kept secret, it is clear that her role is quite significant as the Amazonian warrior will eventually become one of the founding members of Justice League.
Director Michelle MacLaren was originally set to direct the “Wonder Woman” solo movie, but she departed from the project due to creative differences. “Monster” director Patty Jenkins replaced MacLaren and is directing based on a script written by Jason Fuchs. It is the first time in over a decade that a female director is brought on board to helm a superhero movie.
Since production on the film began earlier in November last year, Warner Bros. has unveiled an official logo for the film, which you can view below:
The studio created the official social media accounts for “Wonder Woman” as well, including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
The social media accounts were probably created in preparation for the first footage of the movie, which debuted during The CW‘s “DC Films Presents: Dawn of the Justice League”, an half-hour special which focuses on DC’s big-screen offerings.
Hosted by filmmaker/writer/lifelong comics fan Kevin Smith, the special featured DC Comics COO Geoff Johns. It offered viewers a behind-the-scenes look at some of the upcoming DC movies, including “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” and “Suicide Squad”, as well as glimpses of DC’s most famous Super Villains as well.
Viewers were also given a sneak peek at the upcoming “Wonder Woman” movie.
As compared to the “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” trailers, the first footage of the solo movie offered us more glimpses of Gadot’s Wonder Woman in action as a warrior and a leader. Jenkins and Gadot were also featured in the footage to offer some insights on the characters of the film.
The behind-the-scenes footage also featured some comments from Chris Pine, who is playing Steve Trevor, the love interest of Wonder Woman.
