Everybody loves good neighbours, but it doesn’t seem like Mac and Kelly Radner are going to have that kind of luck..yet.
Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne are back in the sequel to 2014’s “Neighbors” as the unlucky married couple who once again finds themselves putting up with new, inconsiderate neighbours.
In the first movie, we saw the couple desperately trying to get rid of the wild fraternity, led by Teddy (played by Zac Efron), that moves in their house next door.
In the sequel, the couple has a 2nd baby on the way and they are ready to make the final move into adulthood: the suburbs. However, they soon learn that they are in for even more pain as the new occupants next door are Kappu Nu, a wild sorority led by Shelby (played by Chloë Grace Moretz).
Shelby is tired of her school’s sexist, restrictive system after learning from Madison (played by Selena Gomez) that sororities aren’t allowed to host parties. When she decides to start a party-hard sisterhood, she and her best friends Beth (played by Kiersey Clemons) and Nora (played by Beanie Feldstein) move into the house that’s located next to the Radners.
Forced to turn to the one ex-neighbour with the skills to bring down the new Greeks next door, the Radners—alongside best friends Jimmy (played by Ike Barinholtz) and Paula (played Carla Gallo)—bring in charismatic Teddy as their secret weapon. If he can infiltrate the sorority and charm his way through it, the thirtysomethings will shutter the Kappas’ home.
But if they think that their neighbors are going down without a fight, they have severely underestimated the power of youthful ingenuity and straight-up crazy.
“Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising” also stars Dave Franco, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Kiersey Clemons, Beanie Feldstein, and Lisa Kudrow.
The first film earned an impressive USD270 million worldwide on a budget of USD18 million. Nicholas Stoller is back in the director’s chair, writing alongside Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Andrew Jay Cohen, and Brendan O’Brien. Rogen and Goldberg are producing the film alongside James Weaver through their Point Grey Pictures banner. Cohen and O’Brien will serve as executive producers alongside Good Universe’s Nathan Kahane and Joe Drake.
