Good news for all you Uber users out there! The ride-sharing service is now even more affordable than before thanks to their new UberX pricing structure.
According to Uber, the cheaper fare structure is to encourage more accessibility for KL-ites who frequently make short trips for errands around the city centre.
Under Uber’s new UberX price structure for Kuala Lumpur, the base or minimum fare is now RM0.95 (previously RM2), while the running tariff fares are priced at RM0.25 per minute (previously RM0.35) or RM0.60 per kilometre (previously RM0.70 per km).
In the price comparison table provided by Uber, a ride from KL Sentral to Mid Valley will approximately cost RM4 – that’s 50% less compared the old fare structure of RM8.
Similarly in the same fare estimation chart, the fare from 1Utama to Taman Tun Dr Ismail will approximately cost RM3 with the new UberX structure where as a traditional taxi ride will cost you RM8.
It’s a win-win situation for Uber passengers in KL who need to get from point A to point B at an affordable price.
