Katherine Waterston is certainly on the fast track to becoming a household name.
Not only did Waterston impress critics with her performance in Paul Thomas Anderson’s “Inherent Vice”, she also landed a leading role in the “Harry Potter” spin-off film, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them“.
This will mark her 2nd time working with Fassbender as she also appeared alongside the actor in “Steve Jobs“. Swedish actress Noomi Rapace will return to play scientist Elizabeth Shaw, but she will only appear briefly. Fassbender will return to reprise his “Prometheus” role as the android David.

RIDLEY SCOTT RETURNS TO THE UNIVERSE HE CREATED IN “ALIEN” WITH “ALIEN: COVENANT”, THE 2ND CHAPTER IN A PREQUEL TRILOGY THAT BEGAN WITH “PROMETHEUS” — AND CONNECTS DIRECTLY TO SCOTT’S 1979 SEMINAL WORK OF SCIENCE FICTION.

BOUND FOR A REMOTE PLANET ON THE FAR SIDE OF THE GALAXY, THE CREW OF THE COLONY SHIP COVENANT DISCOVERS WHAT THEY THINK IS AN UNCHARTED PARADISE, BUT IS ACTUALLY A DARK, DANGEROUS WORLD — WHOSE SOLE INHABITANT IS THE “SYNTHETIC” DAVID (MICHAEL FASSBENDER), SURVIVOR OF THE DOOMED PROMETHEUS EXPEDITION.
Production on the sequel is set to begin in February next year in Australia’s New South Wales.
The film will be based on a script written by Jack Paglen (of “Transcendence” fame) and Michael Green (of “Green Lantern” fame). According to Scott, the film will “pull back from the Xenomorphs and introduce a new alien” as well. Fans are hoping that the sequel will fix a number of plot holes from the first film that was only being praised for its visual aesthetic design and acting.
Scott currently has several projects under his belt, including “The Cartel”, “Blade Runner 2“, and “Alien 5”. As for Waterston, she will be seen opposite Eddie Redmayne in
