They were there for an album cover shoot but they definitely got “more” out of their trip than they would’ve ever expected!
Oh My Girl, a 8-member K-Pop idol girl group, was detained at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on suspicion that they might be sex workers. The LAX immigration authorities had gone through the girls’ costumes and props, after which, Oh My Girl spent about 15 hours in customs.
The news was clarified by Oh My Girl’s agency, WM Entertainment, who said that the incident was also largely due to girls’ young age. It is also believed that there might’ve been an issue with the type of visa the band members were holding, as they were also booked to perform at a gala event in Los Angeles on Saturday (12th December).
WM Entertainment added that it was taking legal advice in the US as to whether the band’s detention was lawful. Meanwhile, Oh My Girl have since flown back to South Korea after being released by LAX officials.
That must’ve been such a harrowing experience for the girls. We’re just glad that they’re safe and sound back at home now!
