Time flies like an arrow indeed.
In less than 2 weeks, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will be officially released and there’s no doubt that this movie is going to be a blockbuster hit.
Ahead of the release of the film, Rolling Stone‘s Brian Hiatt spilled more details on what went on behind the-scenes of this upcoming “Star Wars” film. He also sat down with director J.J. Abrams and the cast members of the film while watching Abrams edit the film for 20 minutes.
According to Hiatt, the editing probably adds up to “a minute or 2 of actual footage”. He also said that a space battle will be shown, “featuring X-Wings and TIE fighters and something like a Death Star”. “There is a lightsaber duel, where Kylo Ren is unmasked, revealing an intense-looking, unscarred Driver,” he added.
Hiatt then added:
There is a weapon that the filmmakers, at least, refer to as a “Sunsucker”. I see a churning energy device on the ground of a planet that sends a massive, lavalike beam upward – “Sunsucker” or not, it looks scary.
Rolling Stone also debuted several set photos from the film. One of the set photos features Kylo Ren (played by Adam Driver) giving a speech to the iconic helmet that belongs to the late Anakin Skywalker while another picture shows Rey (played by Daisy Ridley) talking to BB-8.
