That’s it, guys.
We’re packing our bags and getting ready to go to Hong Kong next year for the waxen doppelgänger of South Korean actor and model Lee Jong Suk (이종석).
Having initially debuted in 2005 as a runway model, Jong Suk began his acting career in the 2009 short film, “Sympathy”.
The 26-year-old actor is later known for his leading roles in “School 2013” (2012), “I Can Hear Your Voice” (2013), “Doctor Stranger” (2014) and also, for his unforgettable role as Choi Dal Po in “Pinocchio” (2014).
Despite being young and still fairly new to the entertainment industry, he has become so popular in China that he is known as one of the “Fantastic Four of Hallyu”. The other 3 actors are Kim Soo Hyun, Lee Min Ho, and Kim Woo Bin.
On 6th October (Tuesday), multiple Chinese media outlets released photos showing a behind-the-scenes look at the process to immortalise Jong Suk’s features in wax form.
Jong Suk’s talent agency Wellmade Yedang Entertainment also confirmed the actor’s participation in the project through an article by Korean media outlet Xsports News.
The actor can be seen looking smart and dapper in his fitted hot pink suit while getting his features measured for the wax sculpture. Extensive body measurements were taken as well, including sizings of his head and eyes.
Representatives for Madame Tussauds spoke positively about Jong Suk’s patience and pleasant behaviour during the lengthy measurements.

The spokesperson said:
Despite the approximately 7-hour long hours of physically measuring him, he pleasantly talked with staff from the UK.
“He was very professional and impressive. The bright pink suit stands out and expresses his charms well,” the spokesperson added.
According to a Hong Kong Madame Tussauds representative, they decided to honour Jong Suk with a wax figure because he is “a very popular actor throughout Southeast Asia especially in China and Japan”.
The representative added:
HE IS A TALENTED ACTOR AND POSSESSES GREAT STAR POWER. HE’S WORTH IT. EVERYONE IS GREATLY ANTICIPATING LEE JONG SUK’S WAX DOLL EXHIBIT EARLY NEXT YEAR.
Joining the ranks of Korean stars like Bae Yong Joon and Lee Min Ho, Jong Suk is the 4th Korean wax figure to be installed at the museum.
His wax figure will go on display at the museum in the first half of next year, along with world-renowned figures, such as US President Barack Obama, actresses Angelina Jolie and Audrey Hepburn, and Hong Kong actor Andy Lau.
Well, let’s just hope that visitors will be more gentle towards Jong Suk’s wax figure. We certainly do not want it to suffer a similar fate as Justin Bieber’s wax figure that was sent into early retirement last year due to excessive groping.
