B.A.P is apparently back with Korean agency TS Entertainment. Wait, what? After all that B.A.P lawsuit drama in November last year?
In case you missed it (though we don’t see how you could’ve), all 6 members of the idol boy group filed a lawsuit to terminate their exclusive contract with TS entertainment in 2014. The members cited unfair income distribution and slave/invalid contracts.
It was reported that official contracts signed by B.A.P in 2011 were only advantageous to the company and unfavourable to the members. The contracts they’ve signed last for a minimum of 7 years from their first album instead of the date they signed their contract. In fact, the contracts broke the rules outlined by the Fair Trade Commission as the members claim that their income mostly goes to the company even though they’ve worked hard to earn their incomes.
B.A.P has released a total of 11 different albums and held concerts all around the world since their debut in January 2012. Even though they have done their best for their fans, the members were given unfair treatment by the company and have been dealing with their deteriorating health problems.
Both the idol group and TS Entertainment release their respective official statements regarding the issue back in December 2014. Since then, the B.A.P members have laid low by stopping all promotions. They also attended a court trial in March 2015 in hopes of coming to an agreement.
And now, a few months short of a year after the initial news of the lawsuit, TS Entertainment has released an official statement to confirm that B.A.P has returned to the agency:
Hello, this is TS Entertainment.
Firstly, we would like to apologize again for causing concern to everyone due to the unexpected occurrences within the past few months.
Since the problem occurred on November 11th 2014, we have prioritised solving the issue and made our best effort to recover the trust with B.A.P. Through our series of numerous communication trials and heartfelt efforts, we finally recovered the trust of each other and B.A.P returned to TS Entertainment on August 1st 2015.No matter what the reason is, we fully recognise that this long process has been a painful one for the B.A.P members, their parents, and the fans who have always been the main source of unwavering support to the group, and promise that we will make our earnest effort to create B.A.P’s bright future.
We highly thank the fans, who have patiently waited for B.A.P’s return, and those who have supported us with your unwavering trust. TS Entertainment will continue to create a better environment for all of our artists and focus on bringing better music to you all.
Hmm, what do you BABYZ think? Would you consider this a smart move by B.A.P? What would you have done differently if it was you? On the flipside, are you glad that you’ll be able to see B.A.P in action again soon?
