Woah, it seems like we will be experiencing life in Cybertron soon.
After it was confirmed that the “Transformer” movies will be made into a cinematic universe, fans of the franchise could be facing another surprise – the possibility that “Transformers 5” will take place in Cybertron, a fictional planet where the Transformers originated from.

Several insiders told Deadline that the prequel is currently named as “Transformers One”, but it could be subjected to change at any time. “Transformers One” is also being planned as an animated feature, but there is a chance that it could be adapted into a full fledged live-action movie. No storyline has been revealed, but the idea of a prequel was apparently suggested by Hasbro.
Deadline has also disclosed that 2 more people have been added to the team of writers for the upcoming cinematic universe. Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari, who both worked together for the script of “Ant-Man“, have reportedly agreed to join the production.
Previously, it was reported that Robert Kirkman (“The Walking Dead“), Art Marcum (“Iron Man“), Matt Holloway (“Punisher: War Zone”), Jeff Pinkner (“Fringe”), and Zak Penn (“X-Men: The Last Stand“) have signed on as scriptwriters. They will be helping Michael Bay, Steven Spielberg, Lorenzo di Bonaventura, and Akiva Goldsman in conceptualising several spin-offs and sequels for the Transformers cinematic universe.
It may seem like origins stories are being spun left and right in Hollywood, but the idea of it is appealing to fans. Who wouldn’t want to know where their favourite characters came from, or how did they become what they are now?
What do you think the origins story will look like? Do you think Barrer and Ferrari have what it takes to pen the “Transformers” movies? Leave your thoughts in the comments box below!
