“Cottage Industry” is their first mini album since the release of their hit single “Close Ur Mouth” in 2011.

Although the song carries an upbeat and catchy tune, G-Friend‘s Yerin, who was featured in the video along with Heechul, can be seen being stuck in a relationship fraught with arguments. Celebrities like Jang Dong Min, Gun Hee, Lee Jin Ho, and Cho Jae Geol also starred in the music video.

Shortly after the release of the video, SM Entertainment surprised its fans again by releasing the highlight medley of the album. It featured the snippets of all the songs from the album such as “M&D (Midnight&Dawn)”, “Moon Crystal”, “Silhouette”, and “Soul”.

According to Soompi, Heechul wrote the lyrics of all the songs in the album while Jungmo composed and arranged the tracks.

It was also revealed that the official meaning for M&D is “Midnight & Dawn”. However, the name brought a deeper meaning for the both of them as it also represents the name of their respective hometowns, “Miari and Dangye-dong”.
