“The Human Centipede” has an interesting premise, but we can’t stand how gory and twisted it is. In fact, we didn’t even think it would spawn a franchise.
So, if you think the director is officially done with the film, think again. The 3rd instalment of the gross-out horror franchise was already in the works for quite some time and the director is finally ready to release it this coming May.
The Dutch horror film is written, directed, and co-produced by Tom Six. The first film tells the story of a German doctor who kidnaps 3 tourists and joins them surgically, mouth to anus, forming a “human centipede,” a conjoined triplet. According to Six, the concept arose from a joke he made with his friends about punishing a child molester by stitching his mouth to the anus of a “fat truck driver”.
Six also revealed that he did not mention the mouth-to-anus aspect of the plot when approaching investors prior to filming. Thus, the financiers knew nothing about the full nature of the film until it was complete. Despite receiving generally negative reviews from mainstream film critics, it won several accolades at international film festivals. It was released in the US on a limited release theatrically in 2010 and unsurprisingly received generally negative reviews. A sequel, entitled “Full Sequence”, was then released in 2011.
Entertainment Weekly exclusively reported that Diesel Laser, who starred in the original “Human Centipede” film, will return to the threequel to portray Bill Boss, a bully prison warden. It will also star Laurence R. Harvey from “The Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence)” and franchise newbie Eric Roberts.
Six also told EW that the film is “100 percent politically incorrect”, and we don’t doubt that either.
Check out the official synopsis below:
Bully prison warden Bill Boss (Dieter Laser), leading a big state prison in the US of A, has a lot of problems; his prison statistically has the highest amount of prison riots, medical costs and staff turnover in the country. But foremost he is unable to get the respect he thinks he deserves from his inmates and the state Governor (Eric Roberts). He constantly fails in experimenting with different ideas for the ideal punishment to get the inmates in line, which drives him, together with the sizzling heat, completely insane. Under threats of termination by the Governor, his loyal right hand man Dwight (Laurence R Harvey) comes up with a brilliant idea. A revolutionary idea which could change the American prison system for good and save billions of dollars. An idea based on the notorious Human Centipede movies, that will literally and figuratively get the inmates on their knees, creating the ultimate punishment and deterrent for anyone considering a life of crime. Having nothing to lose, Bill and Dwight create a jaw-dropping 500-person prison centipede.
“Human Centipede Part 3 (Final Sequence)” is slated for release in theatres and on VOD on 22nd May.
