Ever since Scarlett Johansson’s breakout adult role in 2003′s “Lost In Translation,” we’ve been completely taken by her. Sure, we haven’t even had enough time to get over her kicking butt in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” yet, but it doesn’t mean that we can’t welcome Scarlett in another superhuman flick with wide open arms.

In “Lucy”, written and directed by acclaimed French filmmaker Luc Besson, she plays a woman working as a drug mule for the mob. But when some of the drugs she’s carrying start to leak into her system, she turns into a “metahuman” with telekinetic powers, the ability to absorb intelligence instantly, and the (convenient) disability to feel pain or other discomforts.

Fun fact: Rumour has it that during production, director Luc Bensson was so frustrated with the constant disruptions that he considered leaving Taipei to film somewhere else. After he wrapped up shooting the Taiwan part of the film, he blasted the media, “We don’t want pictures with new dresses of Scarlett. Sometimes I lose a bit of my concentration because I’m bothered by that. Shooting at night time was a nightmare because of constant paparazzi intrusions”.

Wow. Guess we can’t blame people for wanting a piece (or a few paparazzo shots) of super sexy Scarlett! Watch the trailer here:

“Lucy” is scheduled for a 21st August release in cinemas nationwide.
