The “there’s something in the water that’s going to kill you”-themed movie is back, bigger and better, and we’re pretty sure with more blood-thirsty fishies.
“Piranha 3DD” is the sequel to 2010’s “Piranha 3D” and it stars Danielle Panabaker, Matt Bush, David Koechner, Chris Zylka, Katrina Bowden, Gary Busey, Christopher Lloyd, and David Hasselhoff. The movie takes place a year after the attack on Lake Victoria by prehistoric piranhas, long after an eradication campaign has left the lake inhabitable by life. And because of that, the town itself was abandoned as a result of the drying up of their main revenue source, tourism.
But, at a nearby lake, two farmers walk into the water to recover the body of a dead cow. Puzzled, they poked around only to find death calling. Unbeknownst to them, there were piranha eggs inside the dead cow and somewhat miraculously they all hatch all at the same time, attacking and killing the farmers.
Long story short, the flesh-hungry, blood-thirsty predators then head upstream, through an underground river connection, where they look to make a feast out of “Big Wet”, a local waterpark.
We’re thinking, summer time, adult-themed section, water-certified strippers, and parties – what’s there to lose, right?
