For the second year in a row, RSH (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, the distributor and retailer of Vans merchandise in Malaysia, organized “Vans Presents Go Skateboarding Day” in conjunction with the global “Go Skateboarding Day” (which falls on 21st of June annually).
Internationally, “Go Skateboarding Day” is the day when all skateboarding enthusiasts get together to skate at their local skate venues or even their favourite street spots to express their passion for the sport in any and every way in their unique skateboarding styles.
For Malaysia, the community came out in strong numbers at this year’s Vans Presents Go Skateboarding Day at the Putrajaya Challenge Park.
We’re talking, followers from all over Malaysia and even as far as Korea and Singapore!
The day kicked off with skateboarders convoying from the nearby Putrajaya International Convention Centre to Putrajaya Challenge Park led by Vans Skateboarders Pa’din Musa and Bazly. The lively atmosphere also saw skate gear brands such as Hellbent, Hz Skateboards, Sibling, Papan Skate Company, Principle Footwear, and new local skate magazine Popper dishing out their products for sale.
Vans’ Presents Go Skateboarding Day 2012 was divided into two competitions, “Highest Ollie” (for the more experienced skateboarders) and “Trick Dice” (for the amateur skateboarders). Each competition had its own challenges and battles, coupled with fluid board tricks and only six participants from the said competitions walked away with amazing prizes!
Highest Ollie

Mr. Manish Sapra (General Manager of the Sports Division of RSH Malaysia Sdn Bhd) said, “We at Vans Malaysia are proud that this day of celebration turned out to be a great success with the participation of talented youth and even seasoned skateboarders from all walks of life.”
The event then ended with a celebratory BBQ dinner with compliments from Vans Malaysia, coupled with incredible performances by Vans-sponsored artistes, Bo Iqram and Bunkface.
