There’s a saying which goes; it’s all ‘fun and games’ until somebody gets hurt. Unfortunately for this family in China, it didn’t stop at someone getting hurt. It only stopped after they passed away.

A young boy had been enduring a beating from his grandmother when he decided to retaliate. However, he may have gone further than intended as he ended up strangling his grandmother to death instead.

A video of the incident recently went viral. It began with an elderly woman slapping the back of a ten-year-old boy’s head. He took the blows, until she bent down to grab a slipper on the floor. The boy then quickly grabbed her in a chokehold and dragged her down. The lady hit him a few more times in the side and head with the slipper but the boy held fast.

Eventually, the lady stopped fighting back and went limp. His friend, who was recording the film, remarked at one point that she “didn’t want to hit (the boy) anymore“. However, his friend eventually realised something was wrong, and quickly urged the boy to let go. The kid did so reluctantly, while still complaining about being hit.

A woman could be heard asking what was going on in the background before realising what had happened. She stormed in and started hitting the boy while telling him, “Your grandmother is dead! Your grandmother is dead!” A total of three other kids watched the scene in silence while the boy bawled. The one filming the video eventually left, ending the footage.

The video garnered a lot of attention after it went viral, with people wondering what exactly had happened. Some demanded to know why the lady hadn’t done anything to save the grandmother, while others pointed out how callous the incident was.

It was later discovered that the incident had taken place in Lalatun, Haicheng Town, in Zhaodong city, in the Heilungkiang province. Although no news was given regarding the incident, a video later showed the boy and his friends being taken into custody.

A source also claimed the boy had implicated his friend in the matter. According to the source, the friend had been the one urging him to do the deed. However, that has yet to be confirmed. There is currently no information on the boys or what awaits them. But, we hope the case can be resolved soon.
