Last October, the 1st phase of the Ampang LRT Line Extension Project (LEP) involving 4 stations – Awan Besar, Kampung Muhibbah, Alam Sutera and Bandar Kinrara 5 (BK5) – was completed. It changed the way thousands of residents living in Puchong and surrounding areas commute.
Good news guys, another 4 LRT stations will open for service next Thursday (31st March).
The new stations that are included in the Ampang LEP are:
- IOI Puchong Jaya
- Pusat Bandar Puchong
- Taman Perindustrian Puchong
- Bandar Puteri
Starting from next week onwards, the Ampang LRT Line will have 33 stations up and running. This should come as a relief especially for those living and working in Puchong, considering the heavy traffic on the Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong (LDP) during peak hours.
Unfortunately, the final 3 stations – Puchong Perdana, Puchong Prima, and Putra Heights – have been delayed and will most probably only start operations in June. The 14 additional stations of Kelana Jaya LRT Line’s extension is also expected to open in June.
When all the aforementioned stations are completed and ready to open for service, it will mark the completion of the LRT extension project that was first announced in 2006.
