ZUS Coffee continues to be the go-to coffee chain for many Malaysians, thanks to its affordable yet delicious drink options. However, some fans noticed that the brand has quietly increased its prices, leading to a few unhappy reactions.
Recently, netizens lamented on social media about ZUS Coffee increasing their prices overnight. The prices for most of the brand’s coffee and chocolate drinks appeared to have increased by 30 cents, reportedly starting yesterday (3rd February 2025, Monday). While the amount for the price hike wasn’t too jarring, many customers still lamented that there was no prior notice about a price increase – or why.

However, earlier today (4th February 2024, Tuesday), ZUS Coffee issued an email blast to explain why the company decided to increase its coffee prices. According to the brand, the new prices reflect the global price hike for coffee beans and cocoa. ZUS Coffee said it has been absorbing the cost in the past year for its customers but now has to increase its price by 30 cents to avoid suffering losses.
The price hike went into effect earlier this week, affecting most of the drinks on the ZUS Coffee menu. However, the brand said it will maintain the same price for its “necessities” – Espresso, Americano, CEO Latte, Coconut Latte and CEO Coconut Latte. The chain also apologised to its customers for any inconvenience caused and thanked them for their support over the past five years.

It’s not often for a large corporation to directly address a price hike – so kudos to ZUS Coffee for being transparent with its customers. What are your thoughts on this?
