Chinese celebrity couple Wang Feng (汪峰) and Zhang Ziyi (章子怡) have been married for over eight years, yet netizens have always been doubtful that their marriage will last. And unfortunately, according to a source, 刘一飞 (transliteration: Liu Yifei), that doubt has come true.
During a livestream, Yifei, reportedly a disciple of actor Zhao Benshan (赵本山), dropped a bombshell, claiming the well-known celebrity couple had gotten divorced. But, some of his claims have left netizens doubtful as to whether his news was true or not.
Zhang Ziyi and Wang Feng tied the knot in 2015, and have two kids together. However, netizens have previously expressed uncertainty about their marriage going the distance, especially since it is common knowledge that Wang Feng had previously divorced and has a daughter from his earlier marriage. But, Yifei claims their concerns about the couple’s marriage weren’t unfounded.
Yifei claimed Wang Feng and Zhang Ziyi have completed the procedures for their divorce, and have divided their property. Initially, the two of them shared property with a total value of 3.5 billion yuan (~RM2.2 billion). They allegedly split their property after the divorce, with Wang Feng taking a share of 2.8 billion yuan (~RM1.7 billion) and Zhang Ziyi taking 700 million yuan (~RM448 million).
The disparity of the property separation has left netizens doubting the authenticity of Yifei’s claims. Additionally, a few wondered if he was purposely trying to hype up news of their divorce, to which he retorted: “Do the two of them still need the hype?” Someone also reportedly asked: “Is Wang Feng cheating?” Yifei responded: “It’s normal for him to cheat once or twice,” adding Wang Feng had divorced his first two wives for new women.
Currently, neither Zhang Ziyi nor Wang Feng have commented on the rumour. But, ironically, netizens once joked Zhang Ziyi ‘cursed’ couples whom she gave her blessing for their wedding to. Has that ‘curse’ turned on her? We certainly hope not.
