Despite the horrendous disaster that happened last weekend (18th December) that put a halt to everyone’s daily activities, some things just can’t be delayed – like childbirth.
Imagine having to go through one of the most painful experience any woman could go through, but in a natural disaster. This was no usual water birth, as the mother was surrounded by murky and cold mud water with no midwife to help out.
That’s what happened to this one woman in a TikTok video posted by user @tutynoormalina that went viral. In the TikTok video taken from Tuty’s house compound, there was a sound of a woman screaming for help with her baby crying in the background.
A man can be seen trying to climb over the fence, trying to reach the woman to help her. A few more other people were braving through the neck deep flood water, bringing along with them what might have been a polystyrene box to bring the baby back to safety.
The incident took place in Kampung Kebun Bunga, Batu Tiga, Shah Alam. Kampung Kebun Bunga has been one of the places that suffered badly from the flood. The village has been submerged in the flood for almost 4 days since the 18th of December. The water has only started to slowly subside a few days ago.
Fortunately, Tuty has recently clarified that everyone in the video is safe. From the mother and her newborn, to Tuty’s family members; everyone is currently doing okay (given the circumstances). Thank God! The video absolutely wrecked our nerves while watching; we, too, were scared wondering if they made it or not.
Despite the total loss that the whole village suffered, we hope they are getting the help they need.
