Usually, when a website crashes or an app is down, people go to Twitter to complain but where do you go if Twitter itself is down? If you open Twitter right now and see nothing, don’t fret cause you’re not the only one.
At the time of writing (Thursday, 21st December), it appears that Twitter, also known as X, is currently facing some sort of outage. As seen in the screenshots of the home screen below, the app did not display any posts from the timeline apart from advertisements. If you go to your profile, your posts will also not appear.
Many from all over the world took to Facebook to express their frustrations and concerns about both the app and desktop versions of the social media platform being unavailable at the moment with some saying that they thought their account got suspended, making them unable to access it.
Netizens also lamented about the issue on Threads with some jokingly saying that they finally have a reason to give the META app a try. So far, there has been no explanation for the outage so we guess we’ll have to wait until the problem has been resolved to know what actually happened.
