It seems that a few people are allegedly in debt with celebrity entrepreneur Aliff Syukri. The cosmetics tycoon previously called out a hijab entrepreneur for not paying her debt. He did not, however, specify who it was nor the exact amount of how much she apparently owed him.
More recently, the business owner decided to call out another public figure who still has yet to pay his debt and that particular person is apparently a former minister. Here’s what we know:
Yesterday (Sunday, 2nd July), Datuk Aliff Syukri posted on his Instagram to call out a former minister for not paying back his debt. The photo he posted showed a censored version of the minister’s face with the caption that reads, “How can a former minister do this? He wouldn’t answer my calls or Whatsapp messages but long ago, he was the one who came to me for help”.
The entrepreneur claimed that the unnamed former minister allegedly still owes him millions of ringgit. “I’m sure he’s rich for being a former minister. I don’t want to tell the whole story cause it’ll bring shame to his family. So for now, I’ll continue to be patient,” the 36-year-old wrote. While he did not mention any names, netizens speculated that the former minister in question was the Minister of Culture, Arts, and Tourism from 1997 to 2004 based on the photo posted.
Some claimed to have known the minister and alleged that he has yet to pay them for the work they’ve done while others advised Aliff that he should focus on his pilgrimage first before wanting to settle any unpaid debt. A few came to the “Mat Bond Malaya” star’s defense by stating that debt must always be repaid regardless if the person is in the middle of their pilgrimage or not.
Even Aliff’s mother, Bonda Rozita Ibrahim had something to say about the alleged debt. “I prayed that [the minister] will still keep his promise and pay you back. You’ve been patient for 4 years. I even warned you that if he’s so rich, he wouldn’t be borrowing money from you. Why does he get to live comfortably while we have to work hard to earn our money?” she wrote.
At the time of writing, the alleged Minister has yet to release a statement regarding the claims made by Aliff Syukri about unsettled debt. There’s probably a list of people who still owe Aliff money – who’s next?
