Whimsy: 5 Things To Know About This Multi-Sensory Fine Dining Experience

Step right up into a whimsy-cal world of multi-sensory fine dining where diners are taken on a journey that “defies reality”.

Organised by TwoSpicy Entertainment (the people behind Dinner In The Sky and Plane In The City), Whimsy is a 5-course dining experience that combines an immersive “intersection of art, gastronomy, and cutting-edge technology”. In other words, your 5 sense will be ignited.

In case you’ve never heard of Whimsy before, here are several fun facts:

1. What is Whimsy?

Whimsy uses the state-of-the-art 360-degree digital projection technology to “transport” guests into various worlds and dimensions. As aforementioned, this interactive experience will treat your senses – touch, sight, hearing, smell and taste – like no other. During each course, diners will get to travel through space, underwater, the jungle, and a carnival.

2. The menu

The pork free menu is a 5-course meal that costs RM299/pax (Golden Journey) and RM499/pax (Platinum Journey). The menu for both differs slightly when it comes to ingredients. The Golden Journey menu comes with:

  • Biodome – Smoked Duck and Lentil Salad, Squid Ink Risotto Moon Rock, Pesto and Roselle Geodesic Bubbles.

  • The Nest – 63 Egg, Asparagus, Parmesan Cheese, Mushroom Duxelles and Chicken Jus

  • The Sea – Roast Scallop, Japanese Turnip, Samphire, and Red Ogo Seaweed.

  • Popcorn & Chocolate – Pan Seared Foie Gras with Chocolate Perfumed Jus, and Free Range Chicken with Popcorn Sauce.

  • The Egg – White Chocolate Egg, Praline and Dark Chocolate Fuilletine, Vanilla Creme Pate, Fresh Fruits.

P/s: Our personal favourite were the Roast Scallop (the generous portion was just nice) and Pan Seared Foie Gras (it literally melts in your mouth in the best way).

3. The Chef

The exquisite fine dining menu is curated by American-Japanese Chef Jeff Ramsey. He was awarded youngest Michelin starred chef in Japan. He’s now in charge of his own team in Elements, one of the top eateries in Kuala Lumpur.

4. Time slots and sessions

Whimsy

The 2 sessions from Tuesdays till Fridays at 6:30pm and 8:30pm. On weekends (Saturdays and Sundays), diners can choose between 3 sessions at 5pm, 7pm or 9pm. Each table (session) can accommodate 10 people. Each session will last for 90 minutes. Guests are advised to register at the waiting lounge 30 minutes before your time slot.

5. Where is Whimsy located?

Whimsy is located at 231, Jalan Bukit Bintang, Imbi, 55100 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur.

Reservations can be made online at their official website. For more info, feel free to contact 03-22826413 or email info@whimsy.com.my.
