Rejoice Wang Maju folks! It looks like a new Tesco supermarket will be opening in Wangsa Walk Mall in the near future.
A few months ago, Cold Storage officially closed for good after launching a mega sale to clear off its remaining items. Beauty and skin care products, as well as house hold items were snapped up pretty fast.
According to regular visitors, Cold Storage’s contract had come up. However, the company and Wangsa Walk Mall couldn’t see eye to eye when the former wanted to increase their charges in the terms.
It’s good to know that folks around the area will soon have access to Tesco since the nearest outlet is located all the way in Ampang. Thus, the inconvenience for those living in Wangsa Maju, Setapak, Taman Melawati, and Taman Melati.

Other nearby shopping mall supermarkets include Village Grocer (Melawati Mall) and Econ Save (Setapak Central). No word yet on when Tesco Wangsa Walk will open.
UPDATE (20th September):
It’s been announced that Tesco Wangsa Walk will open on 25th September. Those staying nearby will be glad to know that there are now more options to shop.
