Remember the video of them bikini-clad stewardesses which went viral not too long ago? The stewardesses in question were from Vietnamese low-cost carrier VietJet.
And it’s coming to Malaysia.
As part of its plan to expand operations in Southeast Asia, Vietjet has launched a new international route connecting Kuala Lumpur with Ho Chi Minh City.
The route will operate daily from 1st June 2016 onwards. Flying time per sector is about 1 hour and 55 minutes. The flights depart from Ho Chi Minh City at 9:30am (local time) and arrive in Kuala Lumpur at 12:25 pm (local time). Return flights take off from Kuala Lumpur at 1pm (local time) and arrive in Ho Chi Minh City at 1:55pm (local time).
To celebrate, Vietjet is giving away 50,000 promotional tickets from just RM0. The promotion, which runs from 12th to 18th April 2016 between 12pm – 2 pm every day, is applied for all tickets on routes connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Kuala Lumpur, Tainan, and Taipei. Travel period for Ho Chi Minh City – Kuala Lumpur route is from 1st June to 10th October 2016 (excluding public holidays).
We know what you’re thinking! Will passengers be treated to a bikini show on board? Unfortunately, no.
According to Vietjet vice president Nguyen Thi Thuy Binh, the carrier has always upheld the customs and traditions of a destination. “Besides, Kuala Lumpur isn’t a beach destination,” she said during the press conference in Kuala Lumpur. She went on to add, “There’s always something exciting on board our flights.” Some of the activities hinted at include singing performances, magic shows and meet-and-greet sessions with celebrities on board.

Vietjet recently won the IOSA Certification from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) after just over 3 years of operations. The airline was also declared Best Asian Low-Cost Carrier at the TTG Travel Awards 2015.
