Last year, fans were left devastated by the news of Hong Seunghan (홍승한)’s departure from RIIZE. The idol was reportedly removed following several controversies, including his past relationships before debut, which sparked online debate about unfair treatment and unjust behaviour towards K-pop artists. Thankfully, things have been going well for him lately.
In July 2025, the singer made his solo debut under the stage name XngHan (승한) with 2 singles, “Waste No Time” and “Heavenly Blue”. Since then, he has kept himself busy, but few expected that one of his solo projects would include a cameo appearance in an Indonesian sinetron.

Over the weekend, SinemArt Indonesia teased fans with the news that a special guest would be starring in the “Asmara Gen Z” series. The promotional poster featured the silhouette of a male singer, which, unsurprisingly, many K-pop fans quickly recognised as XngHan. The announcement sparked not only excitement but also confusion, as few would have expected a K-pop idol to make an appearance in an Indonesian drama.
Those speculations proved to be true when the singer made his acting debut, appearing in the show’s 312th episode. The 21-year-old essentially played himself, with his character visiting his friend Fattah (portrayed by Fattah Syach), who invited him to a party. After agreeing to join, the two went out to eat nasi padang. Later in the episode, the soloist appeared at the party, where he performed a song for the crowd.

Since the episode aired, fans have been both baffled and excited by XngHan’s cameo. Many were curious about how the opportunity came about, while others praised his acting, noting how natural his performance was. Some also found the situation humorous, as no one would have guessed that a K-pop idol would make his acting debut outside Korea, let alone in an Indonesian soap opera.
