Over the years, several global boy bands and girl groups have demonstrated a close bond even after disbanding. Today is no different, with many groups continuing to remain active with all their original members. That said, there have been rumours of internal conflict among the members.
Global girl group KATSEYE is taking the world by storm, especially after their track “GNARLY” went viral. Despite being new to the scene, they have never shied away from speaking up for themselves and addressing the speculation circulating online. Here’s what one of them had to say about the so-called “beef” among the girls:

Yesterday (Wednesday, 10th September), KATSEYE appeared on the latest episode of Billboard’s Takes Us Out interview series on YouTube. The group sat down with host Tetris Kelly at a Jollibee restaurant to talk about their career, milestones and what lies ahead. At one point, the conversation turned to online discourse.
The host noted that in some interviews or live performances, one member appeared to be missing, sparking speculation among netizens about what was happening behind the scenes. Rumours suggested that the members were not getting along and that at least one of them might be removed from the group. Daniela explained that at times it is inevitable for a member to fall ill or sustain an injury, but the group would still continue with their activities.
She emphasised that it is important for the absent member to prioritise their health and make a full recovery before resuming work, as pushing too soon could have long-term effects on both the individual and the group. Lara added that being part of a group means they can step in for one another whenever someone is unable to make public appearances.

Sophia’s response drew the most attention, as she emphasised that KATSEYE would remain a 6-member group despite the occasional absence of a member. “Every time we see somebody say, ‘Oh, they’re 5 now, they’re going to kick this person out, or there’s beef’ — no! Like Dani said, we’re prioritising our health, and if we need recovery, we’re going to take that time, because all 6 of us are in this for the long run.”
Fans rallied behind the group’s statements, pointing out the hypocrisy of some fandoms that urge idols to prioritise their health, yet criticise them for being absent from group activities. Others praised KATSEYE for being outspoken and addressing rumours and speculation directly when needed. The group’s journey is only just beginning, but it is already clear that they are in it together for the long run.
