When the Spice Girls reunited for the 2012 London Olympics, the world could hardly believe what they were seeing. Those in attendance had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to watch all five members perform together. The iconic group later embarked on a short tour in 2019, this time with only four members, as Victoria Beckham declined due to other commitments.
Speaking of Posh Spice, although she loves her bandmates and all the times they’ve performed together, she has moved on from her music career. Now, it appears that she’s not the only member of her family who is musically inclined, as one of her children might be taking on the mantle one day after posting a video of himself and his mother performing a duet.
Yesterday (Wednesday, 19th November), Victoria and David Beckham’s third child, Cruz, shared a video on Instagram of himself and his mother at home with Spice Girls’ “Viva Forever” playing in the background. The 20-year-old was seen playing the guitar along to the backing track and harmonising with his mother as they sang the iconic 1997 hit. It was later revealed that football star David Beckham was behind the camera, recording the sweet moment, as he joined in to sing Mel C’s ad-libs.
The video has since gone viral, with fans and even celebrity friends expressing their excitement at hearing Posh Spice sing again, as she hasn’t performed since the 2012 Olympics. Some even suggested that the mother-and-son duo should start a band together. Naturally, fans also praised Cruz for his musical talent, noting how clearly he has inherited his mother’s talents.
As for whether Victoria would ever join a Spice Girls reunion tour, she previously mentioned in an interview that she is very tempted and loves the idea of performing on stage with the group again — but a tour isn’t something she’s open to, at least for the foreseeable future. That said, it’s not impossible for her to agree to a one-night-only show or even work on a comeback album, especially since the other Spice Girls have all expressed interest in reuniting.
