Sweet Qismina has continued her remarkable career momentum with a major victory at the ASEAN International Film Festival & Awards (AIFFA) 2025, where she was named Best Supporting Actress. The prestigious ceremony, held at the Colosseum Ballroom of Pullman Hotel Kuching, Sarawak, celebrated some of the finest cinematic talent from across the region, with Sweet emerging as one of the standout honourees of the evening.
The 28-year-old actress, admired for both her versatility and longstanding dedication to the craft, captivated attendees as she appeared in an elegant traditional pink ensemble designed by Zaimi Zulkifli. Her acclaimed portrayal of Maya in the film “Babah” triumphed over strong nominees from Vietnam, the Philippines and Indonesia, reinforcing her position as one of Malaysia’s most compelling young performers.

The actress admitted that the win was far beyond anything she had imagined. “This Best Supporting Actress trophy from AIFFA is something that never existed in my mind before! I’ve been acting since I was a child. So, receiving this award is incredibly meaningful in the canvas of my career,” she said.
She also revealed that she had initially not planned to attend the ceremony due to an overwhelming work schedule. It was only after being persuaded by “Babah”‘s producer that she decided to make a last-minute trip to Kuching. “If not, I honestly wouldn’t have attended because of work. Funny enough, I had already done my makeup in Kuala Lumpur, but my hair styling was done in Kuching. Everything was chaotic. When I attended, I ended up winning. Truly God’s secret,” she shared.

Reflecting on her recent run of achievements, including Best Actress at the 34th Malaysia Film Festival (FFM34), Sweet confessed that such success comes with significant pressure. “It’s extremely heavy because after FFM34, I mentioned how difficult it was to carry that win. Then I received another award and became Malaysia’s representative. It adds another big responsibility. I don’t know why God granted me this fortune, perhaps because He wants me to deliver better work after this,” she said.
She emphasised that the recognition from AIFFA’s jury only strengthens her commitment to her craft. “This win isn’t something I can take lightly. The jury’s choice wasn’t based on popularity but on quality,” she explained. Sweet also expressed heartfelt gratitude to Nads Media Entertainment, the production team behind “Babah”, for offering her the role that transformed her career. “Without their trust, I wouldn’t be in this film. I’m still at a loss for words with this win, thank you to everyone who continues to support me.”
