Singer-actress Erra Fazira has plenty to celebrate. Many have been wondering when the star would finally tie the knot with her entrepreneur partner, Ezwan Zain, ever since the pair became an item last year.
Whenever she was asked about marriage plans, the icon would say that nothing had been confirmed and that she would update everyone once everything was in place. It has now been confirmed that the day is approaching sooner than expected.
Yesterday (Tuesday, 2nd December), Erra Fazira officially announced that her solemnisation ceremony will take place later this month, on 12th December 2025 (Friday). The announcement was made on the same day as the launch of her “Cinta Abadi” music video. According to her Instagram post, the ceremony will also be livestreamed on the KasiOnz YouTube Channel at 9am.
“We are not in a desperate situation to get married; it’s not like that at all. This is more of a future planning for us — we want to have a partner that we could talk to and to have someone by our side, especially when we get old and when our kids are all grown up. These thoughts led to our decision to come together,” she told reporters. The upcoming event will be followed by a small reception the next day for close friends and family. The venue has not been disclosed, but it is expected to be held somewhere in Kuala Lumpur.
Ezwan Zain is the founder of local café franchise Kueh, and is a widower with one child. Erra also has one child from her previous marriage to Engku Emran Engku Zainal Abidin, which ended in divorce in 2014. The businessman reportedly proposed to the singer about six weeks ago. She revealed that she received the ring after the couple met with and received blessings from each other’s families.
“Alhamdulilah, our children were very supportive of our union. They did not object to us becoming a family,” said the actress. While we wait for the official wedding photos, we’d like to extend our congratulations to Erra Fazira and Ezwan Zain on their upcoming marriage!
