(Video) Real Or Fake? Batmobile From “The Dark Knight Rises” Spotted At Johor Shell Station

Although there are plenty of luxury cars being sold here in Malaysia, it’s still somewhat rare to see them on the road as most people simply can’t afford them. However, even if one of these cars were to be seen on the road, people might not even show much interest in them.

While luxury cars may not be all that exciting, how about superhero vehicles? Now that’s a sight to behold!  A Batmobile was recently spotted refuelling at a Shell petrol station but was it the real deal or was it a prop or display of some sort? Let’s find out:

A couple of days ago, a TikTok user who goes @din.3d posted a video of a Batmobile parked at a Shell petrol station in Johor Bahru. The owner of the superhero vehicle was not seen in the video but it appears that they were stopping at the station to refuel. As for which Batmobile model it was, judging by the design, it looks like the same one that was used in “Batman Begins” (2005) and “The Dark Knight Rises” (2008).

“BATMAN chose SHELL today,” the user captioned the post. The TikTok video quickly went viral with netizens being amazed by the sight of the Batmobile (also known as the Black Tumbler for this specific model) in Malaysia. Many were wondering if it was even legal to drive such a vehicle on the road while others asked where the owner even bought the car.

As expected, a few were suspicious if the Batmobile in the video was actually real. Their suspicions were correct as the vehicle that appeared in the video isn’t real. The TikToker who posted it actually used Visual Effects to make it look as realistic as possible and we have to say, he did an amazing job. Scrolling through his TikTok channel, the content creator posted several superhero-themed videos from Marvel and DC.

In speaking to a local news outlet, the creator, who goes by Dinesh, revealed that he picked up on a new hobby of producing VFX videos during the Covid-19 lockdown. The Batman fan said that he wishes to make a career out of his creative hobby. Apart from that, he explained that the process of making his recent videos took 5 to 9 days; it varies depending on the complexity of the project.

While the Batmobile sighting in Johor may not be real, we still hope that Dinesh’s dreams of becoming a VFX artist will one day come true. Were you convinced that the viral clip was the actual thing?
