What was meant to be a relaxing day at a massage parlour turned into a nightmare for the customers. Yesterday (Thursday, 5 December), rapper Zamaera took to social media to share her recent experience of getting a massage at Chiang Thai in Subang Jaya. After undressing and putting on her towel, she was enjoying the service in the privacy of the massage room when, suddenly, a group of 10 to 15 men entered the establishment unannounced.
One of them proceeded to record the female customers in their state of undress, including Zamaera herself. Upset by the situation, she quickly got dressed and confronted the men, who were allegedly Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) officers.

During a livestream on Instagram last night, Zamaera provided further details about the incident. She questioned the men about their actions which they claimed to be standard operating procedures (SOP). Wanting to avoid escalating the situation, she suggested that the officer filming her and the other customers come forward to apologise and delete the video from his phone. However, she was met with silence. “I told them that I wouldn’t go to the police or take the case to court; I just wanted them to acknowledge their misconduct,” she said.
One of the men approached her with his phone to show her the video he had recorded, but it ended abruptly. Before she could react, the man accused her of slandering the officers and attempting to prevent them from carrying out their duties. “I tried to film the video he was showing me, but he wouldn’t let me. He even tried to gaslight me. When I told them I was going to file a police report, the same man demanded my ID. I told him he had no right to do that. He can’t detain me. So, I suggested they follow me to the police station, but none of them did anything,” she explained.

The 29-year-old felt relieved once she was able to explain her side of the story to female police officers at the station. She expressed her gratitude to the officers handling her report, as they also believed that the MBSJ officers’ actions constituted misconduct. After completing her statement, Zamaera was required to go to the IPD USJ 8 for further questioning with an inspector. She was advised to file a complaint about the alleged misconduct at MBSJ. “I will be meeting with the MBSJ director soon and we will discuss how to proceed with the case. I made it clear to them that I wanted an official apology and statement from the city council, especially from the officers who I spoke with [at the massage parlour] who were abusing their power.”
Although she was advised to not post her story on social media, Zamaera firmly believes that the MBSJ officers could not argue with her statements. “There’s no way they can twist this. It was clear that what they did was wrong and they themselves know it,” she said. Shortly after sharing the incident, netizens and celebrity friends rallied in support of the young rapper and expressed hope that the officers would be held accountable for their alleged actions. At the time of writing, there has been no update from the authorities nor the Subang Jaya City Council regarding the alleged incident.

Update (Monday, 9th December)
Selangor executive councillor Ng Suee Lim, who oversees the local government and tourism portfolio, apologised for the alleged incident involving Zamaera and other female customers at the Chiang Thai massage parlour. According to the official statement, there might have been a misunderstanding between the rapper and the officer she spoke with that day.
“I apologise for the incident. To date, we do not have SOPs on how enforcement officers should deal with illegal premises. But we will take appropriate action to prevent a repeat of such incidents,” he told Free Malaysia Today. So far, Zamaera has yet to comment on the Selangor Exco’s response.
