You’ve probably heard the big news by now that the Pahang Princess, Tengku Afzan will be marrying her husband-to-be FD Idzham in a grand 4-day wedding ceremony later this week. In fact, the royal event will take place tomorrow (Thursday, 22nd August) at Tasek Kotasas, Kuantan!
The royal wedding will also be livestreamed and screened at Padang MBK 1 (Padang Masjid Negeri) for all citizens of Pahang to witness. Preparations have been made and with the big day approaching, it only makes sense if the father of the bride has something to share before giving his daughter away.
Yesterday (Tuesday, 20th August), Tunku Azizah posted a video on TikTok of her husband Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Alhaj giving his speech during a prayer feast in celebration of his daughter’s upcoming wedding. The Pahang monarch was seen emotional and wiping his tears before speaking up.
Halfway through his speech, the Sultan choked up and was unable to carry on with his delivery. His son Tengku Hassanal, who was standing next to him, resumed his speech for him while he took his time to compose himself. Once he calmed down, the former Agong concluded his speech and thanked everyone for their attendance and prayers.
Netizens reacted to the heartwarming moment saying that they could relate to His Royal Highness’ feelings about letting go of his eldest daughter. Many commented that they too got emotional seeing Sultan Abdullah’s vulnerable moment as it reminded them that he is like any other loving father. Others prayed that FD Idzham would take good care of Tengku Afzan and be the best husband he could be for the Princess.
