Malaysian actress Nur Fazura recently dropped a major announcement about her career, saying she’s officially retiring from acting in television dramas. Instead, the star will focus on local and international film projects.
During a recent public appearance, the actress, better known as Fazura, shared her future career plans with reporters. She said she will no longer appear in television series on any Malaysian television stations, officially retiring from dramas. However, the 42-year-old said she’s still open to acting in movies, adding that she has received offers to star in films in Malaysia and Indonesia.

According to the actress, she decided to retire from acting in drama because of her family. Fazura said that she can’t commit to the long filming sessions because she wants to spend more time with her daughter, Fatima. She also noted that the 5-year-old has separation anxiety and needs to be with her mother at all times, which influenced her to cut down on her acting commitments. However, Fazura said that she might change her mind in the future.
At the same time, Fazura said she’s also interested in growing her singing career. She revealed that there may be plans with her label Universal Music Malaysia to release new music, adding that she’s taking vocal lessons. While the Tudung FAZURA founder said that she’s not a professional singer, she has expressed interest in the field. Fazura even said she’ll release a new song if she finds one she likes from any producers or composers.
