Disneyland and Disney World are often described as the happiest places on Earth, as fans, both young and old, get the chance to see their favourite characters roaming the theme parks. This is one of the reasons the destinations are so popular: visitors can interact with characters they’ve seen on screen.
Most of the human characters are portrayed by actors, while others appear as mascots, interacting with visitors non-verbally. It looks like a very familiar non-human character will be making his debut and greeting visitors very soon. Who is this character you say? It’s none other than Olaf the snowman!

During a press conference held yesterday (Monday, 24th November), Bruce Vaughn, President and Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney Imagineering, officially announced and unveiled the latest addition to the iconic theme parks’ many attractions: the ever-lovable Olaf from the “Frozen” franchise. This next-generation robot was developed by the Walt Disney Imagineering Research & Development team in close collaboration with Disney Live Entertainment and Walt Disney Animation Studios.
In a video posted by Disney Parks on TikTok, fans got their first look at Olaf. Judging by his facial expressions and body language, it’s clear that the team has done an excellent job of keeping the snowman true to the character we all remember from the films. It is currently unclear whether Olaf will be able to respond to visitors dynamically, but for now, he appears to have a pre-programmed set of responses (using lines from the films) triggered by certain actions or phrases.

Olaf will make appearances in the Arendelle Bay show in “World of Frozen”, the new immersive world coming soon to Disney Adventure World at Disneyland Paris, and special limited-time appearances in “World of Frozen” at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. As for the exact opening date for these latest attractions, according to the official Disneyland Paris website, we can expect them to arrive on 29th March 2026.
